Anthony Ciconte - Managing Partner

With over 25 years’ experience in owning and operating a vast array of businesses, particularly in I.T, Anthony returned to his passion of fisheries by investing in fishing rights in the mid 90’. Eventually, Anthony organically built Victoria’s largest exporter of South Rock Lobster, and a management business in fisheries investments. Exponential growth in clients and portfolios has perpetuated into a professional investment and advisory business servicing the astute investor.

Anthony sits and advises on a number of boards including:

Simon Boag - Fisheries Advisor

Simon has a long career within the fishing industry commencing as a fleet and vessel manager operating vessels in New Zealand, Argentina, Antarctica and Australia.

He is currently a consultant to the South East Trawl Fishing Industry Association (SETFIA) which represents stakeholders from Australia’s largest finfish fishery.

Simon is also a Member of Australian Fish Naming Committee, an independent Director of fishing and quota holding companies, a member of the Southern and Eastern Scale and Shark Fishery Management Advisory Committee and Resource Advisory Group and a Director of the Commonwealth fishing industry’s peak body CFA.   Simon has authored a number of publications including a chapter in the book “Big, Bold and Blue” published by the CSIRO.

Simon’s Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education in Environmental Science – Melbourne University
  • Graduate Certificate Applied Science (Fisheries) – Australian Maritime College
  • Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors – AICD

Chris Calogeras - Associate Director - Northern Australian Fisheries

Chris Calogeras is the Director of C-AID Consultants and has over 30 year’s expertise working with the fishing and seafood industry.  Roles have included senior resource management positions within government, operations manager at an award winning export focussed seafood company and for the last 16 years as an independent industry consultant.

Chris has formal training in resource management, business and seafood processing, his qualifications include:

  • Master of Business Administration, Marine Resource Management – Australian Maritime College
  • Certificate III in Seafood Processing – Seafood Maritime Industry Training
  • Graduate Diploma in Fisheries Management – Australian Maritime College
  • Graduate Certificate in Fisheries Management- Australian Maritime College
  • Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Environmental Biology) – Charles Darwin University.

Mark Burdon - Associate Director - New Zealand

Mark has been involved in the Primary industry for over 20 years, first as a successful intensive farmer and in the last 10 years he has been actively involved in successful investments in the fishing industry namely Fiordland Lobster Company (the largest exporter of Jasus Edwardsii in the world), and involved in the successful start up of PauaCo Ltd, a large exporter of Paua (Abalone) in New Zealand.

Mark has significant experience in an advisory and executive capacity:

  • 3 years’ experience in the above fishery businesses at Board level, a year on Fiordland Lobster Company Ltd
  • 2 years’ as a Director of PauaCo Ltd. PauaCo processes and exports 250 Ton of Paua (Abalone) to China and South East Asia.
  • 4 years’ as a Director of Hawthorn Water Company in Queenstown. Hawthorn Water Company manages a domestic water supply pumping 250,000L of water per day.
  • Currently a Director of Greenfields Farming Ltd, a large corporate farming operation in the South Island.  This is a State Owned Enterprise Appointment on behalf of the Accident Compensation Corporation of New Zealand.
